Laurie Sumerel

Mrs. Laurie Sumerel was born and raised in SC. She lives in Chapin with her husband and four children. Sumerel has two sons attending Clemson University. Her son, Preston, is a sophomore and her son Jack is a freshman. She has twins as well. Both Davis and Mary Wells are ninth graders at Chapin High School. Sumerel loves spending time on the lake with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading and watching her children’s sporting events.

Sumerel earned her degree from Winthrop University in Elementary Education. She has more than 15 years of classroom experience working with preschool and middle school students. She is also an early interventionist and loves working students one-on-one to help them succeed. Adds Laurie: “I love being a part of the elementary team at Glenforest. We are going to have a fantastic year!”
