Head of Glenforest School
Heather Miller is entering her fourth year as Head of School at Glenforest. She has been a special education teacher in Lexington School District 1 in both the resource and self-contain setting. For the past ten years, she has been at Glenforest School in the roles of elementary teacher, secondary support teacher, Director of Instruction, and her current position as Head of School. She received her undergraduate degree in generic special education at Winthrop University and obtained a master’s degree in learning disabilities from the University of South Carolina.
It is her belief that all children are able to learn and that educators should meet students at their instructional level and foster their strengths to enable success in a safe learning environment. When Heather not at school, she is a very busy mother and wife. She has four soccer loving and usually well-behaved children, Ashton and Peyton, who are attending the University of South Carolina (19), Mary Reagan (16) and Bryton (14).
Her afterschool jobs are soccer mom, Uber Driver, maid, and cook. Heather’s husband, Bart, is a math teacher and football coach at River Bluff High School.
