Hello from Mrs. Watson,
Welcome to my webpage. I do a variety of things here for our students, as a School Nurse, and Teacher.
This year I’m teaching High School Composition, Middle School Multiple Intelligences, Music for Elementary & Middle School, and the Music portion for our Fine Arts workshop.
The composition class is designed to be a reinforcement of skills learned in the English classes, as it is such an important part of our students’ education. We recognize that effective students’ need of this important life skill to write effectively.
I teach Cello to students from all over Columbia, I perform for The Greenville’s symphony, and the South Carolina Philharmonic. I’ve graduated a Glenforest student.
I like to make jewelry, I’ve taught in Home School, and I work every summer at a music camp in New England as a nurse, and teacher. I studied music at the USC, and Southwest Missouri State, and did nursing school at Midlands Technical College. I’ve also studied Fine Art at Augusta State University.
The reason I like to teach at this school is the kids. I just love working with them. It’s a mission that is very personal to me. I’ve lived as a mom, and I believe what we do is important. Education is not one size fits all, and Glenforest allows me more than one way to do things. Our children do things differently, and need to be appreciated for who they are and celebrated for what they’ve accomplished.
Here we try to allow our students to be their best so they can have the confidence to go forward and know who they are is good. If you have more questions please call me at 803-796-7622 x110 or by email.
