Accreditation

Glenforest is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the accrediting body for all public and many private schools here in South Carolina and on the East Coast.  Accreditation ensures that any credits earned through Glenforest School will transfer to any public and most private schools for your student. This accreditation also allows for graduates to apply to SACS-accredited colleges and universities (e.g., Clemson University, Duke University, University of South Carolina).

A brief snapshot of how we achieved this status truly exemplifies the school’s belief that we “refuse to lose”.  In 1993, we initially achieved our Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation.  Then in 1998 Glenforest was presented with the President’s Award for Excellence from the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) for the role we played in reaching students with unique learning styles .  In 1999, we earned the prestigious achievement of PROGRAM AWARD from The Division for Learning Disabilities (DLD), a Division of The Council for Exceptional Children and the Exemplary Learning Disabilities Program for exemplary programming in the field of Learning Disabilities.  This award was presented to Glenforest School at the 77th Annual CEC Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.  In 2005, we were re-accredited with SACS.
